The Artist The Hatred of Sound Essay Example For Students

The Artist The Hatred of Sound Essay In 2011 executive, Michel Hazanavicius, chose to make a tribute to early film. The Artist was his vision to communicate an adoration for the quiet film time. The story is based around a quiet film star who was struck down from his platform. He would not push ahead into the â€Å"talkie† film style. In obvious film style there is an underlining romantic tale. The characters move around one another lives at the same time never truly associating. The chief draws out the absolute best in the entertainers, score, and set. You are attracted regardless of whether like me, you totally can't stand quiet movies. We will compose a custom paper on The Artist The Hatred of Sound explicitly for you for just $16.38 $13.9/page Request now The start of the film has no exchange, and a melodic score that sets the feeling for the scene. Most music is fun loving and happy as to coordinate the character of the lead, Valentin. The on-screen character gives a remarkable execution to hand-off this lighthearted affable man. As the story unfurls the music coordinates consistently with the dimness where the film has taken. I am a tremendous enthusiast of film soundtracks, however I never really comprehended the force they hold until there is no exchange to move you to the feeling of the character. I extol the executive and the arranger for such a moving encounter. I did a little exploration so as to under stand how the cinematographer chose to shoot this film. His camera edges appeared to be consistent with the quiet film style. His utilization of focal points, film speed, and proportion gives a true look. I was somewhat frustrated to learn they shot in shading and afterward went to the altering room. Be that as it may, as a picture taker I never shoot in highly contrasting except if I am utilizing film. I comprehended the procedure, yet I need to consider how it would have looked on the off chance that they would have gone with the film. There is an incredible scene in the film that shows exactly the amount, Valentin, really fears the sound. A bad dream critical to the lead, that starts off straightforward enough. Simply the setting down of a glass radiates a sound that appears to have never been heard. An ever increasing number of sounds begin to overpower the, Valentin, until he is grasping his ears in distress. This is the main regular sounds in the film until the end when hear the on-screen character at last talk. The bad dream itself was such a ground-breaking seen as we understand that it isn’t pride that the entertainer has, however more so dread. Dread of progress or dread of things to come; maybe dread of loosing his tossed. In spite of the fact that things are clarified later on that scene causes me to feel confounded and put resources into seeing the film however with my complete consideration. I couldn't generally discover any data about the gaffer, which caused to feel just as nobody understood the lighting, was faultless. The set up of each scene gave a similar vibe of the quiet period absence of lighting style. I am sure the gaffer kept to old Hollywood lights, which no uncertainty was rare. I accept the lighting group ought to consistently be recognized, basically on the grounds that it is a genuine craftsmanship. I incredibly delighted in the reality the entertainers where to some degree obscure (in any event to me). In spite of the fact that John Goodman is a magnificent entertainer, his quality detracted from the realness. Had I not seen his face I could have totally been inundated in this story line and time period. Star power consistently draws a group, yet to remain consistent with the workmanship and utilize all not all that notable entertainers would have given the film more profundity. It was ground-breaking how each character had an unmistakable roll that spun around the lead. .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .postImageUrl , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .focused content region { min-tallness: 80px; position: relative; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:hover , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:visited , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:active { border:0!important; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; mistiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: murkiness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:active , .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:hover { haziness: 1; change: darkness 250ms; webkit-change: obscurity 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .focused content territory { width: 100%; position: relat ive; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .ctaText { fringe base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-design: underline; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; text style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; outskirt: none; fringe span: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: striking; line-stature: 26px; moz-outskirt range: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-embellishment: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e60 80bb .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u82b84673e47e9c3e8c9179fb6e6080bb:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: The film X-Men-the Movie EssayThe steadfast steward, the adoration intrigue that additionally was the fundamental death of, Valetin, even the canine had an undeniable roll. The profundity where, Hazanavicius took each character appear to balance the film. Every entertainer appeared to place their everything into the scenes making the film really moving. I am in stunningness of the sheer greatness of acting style that was utilized. The utilization of the whole body and outward appearance to transfer the substance of the scene, which is generally finished with exchange, was faultless. Energetic (the affection intrigue) had a profound thinking a bout Valentin, and it appeared in such unpretentious ways. The on-screen character required a lot of exertion to show the movement of a pound to an all out affection. It is nothing unexpected to me that this film won such huge numbers of grants. Generally speaking, this film has really given me a regard, and even love for a film style that my age has never grasped. I am a genuine devotee of motion pictures, and I like to consider myself an expert of movies. I am embarrassed to have never realized that this film existed. It has made me fully aware of a whole sort of motion pictures that I will grasp. I am eager to bring another excursion down an old and to some degree overlooked street.

Business Environment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words - 6

Business Environment - Essay Example In less difficult words, globalization has become a profoundly established wonder in the current world that there is by all accounts zero option of private enterprise. Various cynics have concocted new and powerful financial speculations and practices to suspend the normal grounds of free enterprise on the planet (Thornley and Appay, 2010). By and by, the effect or the usage of free enterprise is profoundly viable that autonomous financial arrangements are neglected to rehearse. In this, it ought to be noticed that the referenced view is only anticipated by the cynics and there is still a great deal of room of clarification concerning the validity of the perspective (Milward, 2003). The point of this paper is to basically survey the theory explanation the recommendation that legislatures are not, at this point ready to execute free approaches. There is probably a continuous discussion with regards to the part of endeavors made by the administrations to actualize and advance free financial strategies. The gauging or the viable measurements to the discussion must be assessed by comprehension triumphed nature of private enterprise in the worldwide world, oddity of neo-old style hypothesis, the job of the exchange national organizations (TNCs). The reality remains that the financial exercises in the past hushed up constrained due to the constraints forced on the exchange. In the current occasions, one can see that it is simpler for the associations to plan an item in one district and afterward convey it to client in the contrary piece of the world (Ohmae, 1994). Thus, the power of suspicion is apparent from the way that western civic establishments consider private enterprise to be a risk to social fairness. Milward (2003) in his examination incorporated that the doubters of private enterprise have consistently indicated extraordinary enthusiasm for the global conversation of need of without non showcase structure. Such a declaration is made

Overrepresentation Of Minority Students In Special Education Programs

Overrepresentation Of Minority Students In Special Education Programs Overrepresentation or disproportionality of minority understudies in a specialized curriculum programs is a progressing issue that has tormented our country for a very long while. Overrepresentation can happen in numerous regions yet is most common while thinking about an understudies ethnicity. Disproportionality alludes to the degree to which enrollment in a given à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢ ¦ bunch influences the likelihood of being put in a particular inability class (Oswald, Coutinho, Best, Singh, 1999, p. 198). For instance, government reports have uncovered that African American understudies establish over 14% of the young populace yet they speak to 20% of the understudies put in a custom curriculum (Losen Orfield, 2002). Klinger et al., (2005) announced that African American understudies are twice as likely than White understudies to be marked as intellectually hindered, once bound to be named as learning handicapped, and more than one and half times as liable to have a passionate or socia l issue. Unbalanced portrayal of ethnic and racial minorities has verifiable associations with instructive isolation and segregation. Dunn (1968) first raised worries about this issue in the sixties. He portrayed the unbalanced number of minority understudies being named as intellectually hindered and set in independent study halls which raised noteworthy instructive and common right concerns. Ferri and Connor (2005) have likewise kept up that disproportionality has chronicled roots. After schools were incorporated in 1954, after the Supreme Courts choice in Brown v. Leading group of Education, the quantity of African American understudies put in a specialized curriculum programs expanded. Understudies were being gathered or put by their scholarly capacity. This training brought about numerous African American understudies being gathered in low capacity tracks and many were consequently alluded for a specialized curriculum administrations. Subsequently, over alluding African American understu dies for a specialized curriculum turned into another approach to resegregate understudies of shading. A few people would contend that setting an understudy in a custom curriculum would incredibly profit the understudy since the person would get increasingly individualized consideration regarding address their handicap and different needs. Be that as it may, disproportionality regularly presents negative ramifications for minority understudies. When African American understudies are distinguished as having an inability, regarded qualified for a specialized curriculum benefits, and set in a custom curriculum setting; they are progressively similar to stay in a custom curriculum classes during their time in school. They are bound to get a watered down educational program that isn't as thorough as the educational program that the understudies when all is said in done instruction gets. These understudies are isolated from their general training peers when set in increasingly prohibitive settings. Handicapped understudies are regularly defamed and treated distinctively by different underst udies in their schools. In conclusion, to additionally compound the issue, overrepresentation may likewise make a few understudies be misclassified or improperly distinguished as having an inability. Disproportionality is an unpredictable issue that has been connected to various components relying upon the school as well as school locale. Likely explanations of disproportionality incorporate psychometric test predisposition, socio-segment factors, inconsistent open door all in all instruction, and social crisscross among educator and understudy (Skiba, et. al, 2008). Research has additionally recommended that predisposition at the prereferral phase of the custom curriculum qualification process is a reason for uniqueness of African American understudies being put in a specialized curriculum (Darley Gross, 1983). As a previous specialized curriculum instructor, I have taken an interest in a few gatherings with a motivation behind choosing which position is proper for an understudy recently distinguished as having an inability. On a few events, I have asked the alluding general training instructor their purposes behind alluding the understudy for a specialized curriculum benefits a nd was astounded to get such obscure and conceivably predisposition clarifications. For instance, one instructor disclosed to me that she alluded an understudy for conduct issues on the grounds that on occasion, he was difficult and wouldn't accomplish his work. Another instructor revealed to me that she alluded an understudy since he introduced testing practices, for example, talking out without consent and he regularly negated the educators answers or clarifications to the class which angered the instructor. When examined further concerning the mediations utilized before referral, the instructors reaction were progressively vague and peppered with an absence of information on proper intercession techniques. The motivation behind this examination is to decide the individual qualities of the general instruction instructors that have the best impact on their choice to allude minority understudies for a specialized curriculum. The investigation will address the accompanying exploratio n inquiries through a blended technique for subjective and quantitative research: What exactly degree assuming any, does a general instruction instructors long periods of experience, showing level, preparing in homeroom the executives and mediation methodologies, training level, ethnicity, age, and sexual orientation sway dissimilarity at the prereferral phase of the custom curriculum qualification process? What effect does general instruction educators adequacy and impression of minority understudy attributes predisposition their referral of minority understudies for a custom curriculum administrations? What is the position pace of the understudies being alluded for a specialized curriculum benefits by the general training instructors? This investigation will concentrate on the understudies being alluded for scholarly or potentially conduct issues in light of the fact that these are the fundamental reasons why minority understudies are alluded for a custom curriculum administrations. Because of this investigation, I want to have the option to expand the accessible writing on potential educator predisposition during the prereferral phase of the specialized curriculum process. My definitive objective is to diminish the quantities of African American understudies being alluded for a specialized curriculum administrations when the referral isn't justified or flawed. Reasonable Framework Disproportionality is an across the board issue that keeps on influencing minority understudies. Examples of reliable disproportionality are apparent and have been read widely for quite a long time. Oswald et al. (1999) inspected the size of overrepresentation by breaking down surviving information from the 1992 Elementary and Secondary School Civil Rights Compliance Report to portray the degree of lopsided portrayal of African American understudies marked as genuinely sincerely upset (SED) and gently intellectually impeded (MMR). They additionally needed to decide the degree to which financial, segment, and instructive factors at the region level were related with disproportional recognizable proof for this ethnic gathering. Zhang and Katsiyannis (2002) utilized information separated from three government distributions to see if or not there have been any ongoing upgrades or changes in overrepresentation of minorities in a custom curriculum. In spite of the fact that, there has been some discussion concerning how disproportionality ought to be estimated and the degree of the issue, overrepresentation keeps on happening with no complete causes. Scientists have additionally been fruitless in distinguishing genuine answers for kill this marvel. Past examinations have inspected numerous parts of disproportionality remembering predisposition for critical thinking and the social procedure of understudy study groups and instructor adequacy and understudy issue as elements in a custom curriculum referral. However, inquire about is fairly constrained and has for the most part centered around the greatness and potential reasons for disproportionality. There gives off an impression of being a hole in the writing while looking at individual factors that influence the general instruction educators choice to allude an understudy for uncommon trainings administrations. This investigation will fill this hole by inspecting factors that impact referral and along these lines brings about divergence. An inside and out investigation of instructors viability and view of minority understudies will likewise be inspected to decide whether these components sway disproportionality. The subjective hypothesis of social learning instituted by Alfred Bandura will advise my way to deal with understanding the marvels of disproportionality concerning instructor viability. Instructor viability will break down to decide its job in the prereferral phase of the custom curriculum process. I will look at the general training educators conviction that the person could possibly be equipped for achieving wanted changes in their understudies. Educator viability will assess two measurements, decisions and individual convictions. Disproportionality will likewise be drawn nearer from a biological point of view system to see how custom curriculum referrals are impacted by close to home attributes of the alluding instructor. The instructor factors that will be investigated will likewise take note of the impact of ascriptive qualities, attributes that can't be changed, for example, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and so on., on uniqueness.

Moreover, she interacts more with bright colors (such as purple and pink) and passionately dislikes dark colors. She occasionally attends speech therapy sessions inorder to deal with her speech. This makes Tracy a very interesting girl and the right candidate for such a case study.Due to the fact that Tracy is four years of age, she is extremely active. In addition to that, interms of her physical development, she is average in nature. She is fit physically and when given the opportunity to play with others, she totally enjoys the moment. Moreover, due to the fact that observations were being made at the early center of learning, most questions were directed to the teacher rather than her mother. When it comes to weight and height, Tracy is average. According to the weight and growth chart, a four years old girl is expected to have an average height of thirty seven inches. Tracy has a height of thirty nine inches, with a weight of thirty five pounds. Moreover, the pregnancy was totally normal according to my awareness and throughout toddlerhood, Tracys development was normal. As days keep on mo ving, Tracy grows more. However, she is considered to be average for her age during the years of pre-k.As I already said, Tracy is avery active girl. When given a chance, she enjoys running around and exploring things. When given a chance to play outside the house, Tracy can throw, kick, catch and bounce a ball adequately. She is however still developing her hand-eye coordination. Therefore, the fact that Tracy is four years of agemeans that she is an excellent placement for the stage. Cognitively, Tracy is in the normal group this is because she is developing normally in line with her age, according to develop-mentalists. By saying Tracy is normal for her age, it means that she is able to write her name but is unable to figure out the correct sequenceof letters, writing in the alphabets to her is not a problem, she is good at listening, she is able to count and she is slowly gaining interest in how to sound specific letters. These are just but afew cogni tive abilities that are normal for a four year old child. Moreover, when she is excited, she talks very fast and therefore she needs to be reminded to talk slowly. When upset, she starts crying and therefore she is being encouraged to express herself using words. Basically, her main speech problems are confusing sounds and annunciation for examples . Therefore, the speech therapy sessions have been of real assistance to hersince despitethe fact that she has been attending the sessions for barely three months, a significant improvement can be noticed in her words. Occasionally, you will find Tracy talking to herself especially when trying to figure out something. This episode is very entertainingto watch. When asked about what she does during the festive season, she was able to tell me about going to her mums place and Disney land. This is a good illustration ofconcepts, series of activities that normally take place during the festive season. This just demonstrates the numerous cognitive capabilities that Tracy has.Cognitively, Tracy is in the normal group for a four year old. She is in the pre-operational stage according to Piaget. She likes learning and loves going to school. According to her teacher, Tracy is well behaved and a good student. This therefore means that her cognitive development is normal.Tracy is quickly developing many emotional and social skills and abilities. According to Feldman (2007), Tracys development is accurate and she possesses numerous abilities for a four year old child. According to her teacher at the early center of development, Tracy has been very talkative all the time she openly shares out her opinion and if she wants something, she will keep on asking. Incase the explanation she receives is not clear, she will keep on asking until she gets it right. She enjoyed talking ever since she was a toddler. This made her learn very many words within a short time. As Tracy progressed in her sentence and word usage, her teacher and dad were able to realize that she was having difficulties in the pronunciation of certain words and this was the idea behind attending speech therapy. At the speech therapy centers, any improvement is sp eech is rewarded weekly and this greatly motivates Tracy to attend the classes. This has made Tracys speech to improve significantly her sound and word pronunciationhas improved. She will continue attending the speech therapy sessions so as to keep on improving. According to Feldman (2007), during the preschool period, children develop some sort of racial and gender identity. This statement is true since when Tracy was being observed, she played more with other girls than playing with boys. At the early center of learning, the children were taught about various cultures. They are taught to appreciate different cultures and colors hence making them appreciate the fact that these children are just like them. it is very important to children to be taught from a young age about different races and cultures especially if they are learning in an environment that accommodates different cultures. Another emotional/social development stated out by Feldman (2007) states children begin viewing individuals as peers and start creating friendships and relationships based on shared interests and truth. While observing Tracy, it is noted that she created friendships with peers from her class. Tracy enjoys playing house, and playing with dolls, there are other girls in her who also love playing with dolls and playing house. They therefore get along very well and play together since they share the same interest. She plays with girls and trusts them since they are all interested in the same thing. Tracy knows how toshare and therefore playing cooperatively is not a problemto her. At times, she just starts crying when frustrated. She is therefore always reminded to use her words to explain herself instead of crying since it is important to socially communicate with her peers inorder to make them know what is bothering her. It is very essential for preschoolers to cultivate good skills socially. Generally, Tracy has many emotional/social skills that are expected for children her age. She is therefore on the right track when it comes to developing her emotional/social skills (Feldman 2007).Tracy continues to rapidly grow with each new day and this growth is in all aspects of her life including emotional/social stage. It was extremely fantastic visiting the early center of development. The environment was inviting and friendly and once could easily tell that children were present in the premises due to the noise. The rooms were filled with artwork and pictures that had been done by the children. There was a teacher for every age group. Tracys teacher was called Precious. Precious was exciting, fun-spirited and was always in agood mood. The other teachers in the facility were extremely welcoming and friendly.Through observation, I noticed that Tracy had a fabulous relationship with Precious. Tracy would go to her teacher to seek clarification if she has any problem or needed assistance with any task. At times, Tracy could come to me for help with various tasks incase the teacher was busy. All the children in class looked up to Precious and I observed that they enjoyed having her as their teacher.Visits to the early center of learning were made twice a week from nine oclock in the morning to midday. This means that I basically observed Tracy doing more of the same routine for the entire time. I did not have enough time to observe Tracy playing outside with her friends especially in the afternoon inorder to find out what tasks they performed during this time. Moreover, I did not get the opportunity to interact with Precious more for matters beside discussing Tracy. It would be quite interesting to find out more information on how she conducted her teaching. However, while observing Tracy, I was also able to observe her teaching methods and skills but I believe it could be easier if I had more face to face conversations with Precious. For Tracy, many of the time I observed her in the classroom environment, playing and learning with her peers. Sometimes, I got the opportunity to have one on one conversation with her and even conduct some activities just the two of us many of these activities were physical activities such as hop, skip and run. It was also amusing and interesting to watch her too. Tracy enjoyed the one on one interactions and she did quite well in performing these tasks.Feldman (2007) offers a lot of beneficial information and using Tracy as a reference point, I was able to learn a lot considering the fact that she was adequately progressing for her age. Cognitively, it is quite important for children who are four years of age to start knowing how to write and this was observable in Tracy since she was able to write her name. She knows all .

The Theory Of Human Intelligence And Its Development Essay

Introduction According to the proposed theory of human intelligence and its development (Sternberg, 1999a), a common set of processes underlies all aspects of intelligence. These processes are hypothesized to be universal. These processes are applied to different kinds of tasks and situations depending on whether a given problem requires practical skills and creative skills. Practical skills used to implement, apply, or put into practice ideas in real-world contexts. It involves individuals applying their abilities to the kinds of daily problems they confront on the job or at home. Practical intelligence is the application of the components of intelligence to experience to: adapt to, (b) shape, and (c) select environments. In contrast with practical skills, creative skills used to create, invent, discover, imagine, suppose, or hypothesize. Tests of creative intelligence go beyond tests of analytical intelligence in measuring performance on tasks that require individuals to deal with relatively novel situations. Sternberg has shown that assessing a range of abilities beyond that assessed by conventional tests of intelligence allows one to tap sources of individual differences measured little or not at all by these tests (Sternberg, 1985). It is also true that people are either practically or creatively skilful or they have these both skills innate with them. Performance of Business Operations Survey

Question: Discuss about the Performance of Business Operations Survey. Answer: Introduction: New Zealand enjoys the advantage of a highly stable government, and the nation does not usually complain of any kind of political turmoil. Owing to the stability of the government, the stringent laws and legal norms are expected to safeguard the concerns of an organization, if it is encountered by any unpredictable, drastic change. However, the nation also follows strict labor laws, that prevent the possibility of labor exploitation, and consequently the labor force is highly expensive in the country. The lending rate of the banks of New Zealand is extremely high in New Zealand, and thus it may affect the profitability of an emerging organization. However, the government allows a freedom of approximately 99.9% to the foreign investors (Hargroves and Smith 2013). The per capita income of the residents of New Zealand is too high, and it is accompanied by a high tendency of consumption of the consumers, that is highly an advantageous factor for a new company. Since the population of the nation is 6 to 7 million, there is a huge abundance of the raw materials, which are also available at a cheap price as well (Smallbone et al. 2012). Further, because of low inflation and unemployment rates, the New Zealand economy is strong with a high growth in the GDP rate. The literacy rate of the residents is 100%, and the average life span of an individual, living here, is 81 years (Hong et al. 2016). This socio-economic well-being of the residents shows that the health of the country is indeed favorable for conducting business. However, the average citizens of the country lack vocational knowledge and expertise, and hence often they are incapable of delivering high quality work. Hence, recruitment of the immigrants may become necessary. As far as the technological factors of New Zealand are concerned, the country is still developing its infrastructure, which is not very technologically advanced. The widespread use of internet among the rural and urban nations has helped the consumers gain awareness of and access to the newly emerging industries. Besides, the nation also offers research and development opportunities for the new organizations entering the market (Kelsey 2015). National Resources and Factors Favoring Business in New Zealand: There is an easy availability of labor force, though the there is a scarcity of laborers for skilled work. There is no dearth of unskilled and semi-skilled workers in New Zealand, though the wage scale of the workers is quite high, as compared to many other countries. As far as the capital needed for initiating business, is usually funded with the help of the bank loans. However, the bank loans are usually very high, and this can prove to be disadvantageous for a start-up business, expanding in New Zealand. As far as the entrepreneurship opportunity of New Zealand is concerned, the country had been rated number one for huge investment opportunities. Any new organization can take advantage of the fertile land, highly qualified and flexible workforce, as well as scope of innovation in the country, all of which makes the country the worlds second easiest place for conducting business, as per the Forbes Magazine. Music doesnt take shape or size but it essentially forms a bond with the ones listening to it. There are many deferent genres of music I enjoy listening too, but my favorite type of music I enjoy he most Is a combination of hip hop and rap music. This Is my favorite type of music because it tells stories I can relate to, there are many different types of hip hop and rap music, and I can listen to it in whatever kind of mood I am in. We will write a custom essay sample on Essay on hip hop or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Hip hop has so many different forms from spoken word, rap and RB all of which have shaped the culture of hip hop. The term hip hop is often misconceived as many think it promotes violence and drug use, all of which do not relate to me.Neither of which have an influence over my life but hip hop has shaped my entire span of my music. I remember growing up listening to my older brothers music and thinking what Is this? Immediately I knew I liked it. Of course my big brother has a huge roll in my life because thats who you look up to as a little kid. The next day I stole my brothers CD and brought It to school to show all my friends, from that experience my friends and share a common interest, and bond through music that can only be described by us.This is where my story beings, from that memory on there I became obsessed. Always talking about new artists and songs gave me something to look award to, and it created a passion. My older brother soon realized my love for music and even though we were 4 years apart our taste was the same. Now imagine a 5th grader with the 50 cent CD Get Rich or Die Trying immediately the thought is this kid shouldnt be listening to this, but its like everywhere we look in our society, It was Just another cool thing to do.I wasnt trying to be a thug or anything In that nature I Just like the way the music flowed through my ears so this genre quickly took hold on my taste. In many songs theres a story and message, sometimes hidden a pepper meaning that I can relate to. The feeling of a certain song that sounds exactly like how you feel Is probably one of the best feelings I know. Im not a very loud person so getting lost in my music is my perfect escape from reality, the lyrics by the artist and the beat create a vibe and sensation that feels like they know exactly how I feel.It seems like now-a-days that everyone tries to stand out and be different, theres nothing wrong with that It Is Just funny how people from worlds apart can 1 OFF and relationships happen to Just about everyone and for someone to actually rap bout it, tell a story about their struggle it can be an anthem to others. Some of my best memories with music are with my friends and certain songs remind us of those memories, like the first time I discovered a rap group called A Tribe Called Quest From that point on I guess my actual love for hip hop began. The lyrics arent all too song, often I find myself listening to instrumental hip hop while doing homework it provides me with a ste ady vibe and helps me focus. Sometimes when Im with some friends we just play an instrumental and see who can freestyle to the beat, as always it ends p being pretty funny as we attempt to rap but the melody isnt quite there. The slow transition from the beat dropped to everyone bobbing their heads trying and trying find something to rap about creates this feeling that we all Just enjoy, it doesnt matter if you suck or not Just do it. Commonly popular with todays youth, Hip Hop is seen as an outlet for their ideas, emotions and problems another way of expressing yourself. Hip Hop is colorless, a cultural movement that started in the late asss spanning and growing still today, there is no certain origin as it has influences from el around the world, and the culture we live in today is very different from the start and birth of hip hop. My type of rap and hip hop started in the asss, I like to think of myself as a child of the asss but I wasnt even old enough to know who the greats of hip hop were at the time.Hip Hop takes many shapes as sub cultures are formed within this music, different styles of rap music can be seen everywhere as its always been relevant, in the asss the actual mainstream media took notice to rappers all of which shared common themes and came from a variety of backgrounds this created he initial boom of the generational hip hop. Groups formed of rappers, artists and musicians alike brought toge ther by Hip Hop, all show how this genre can range from R singing, rapping about life to skillfully making poetic Justice with a pen and a pad.The actual form of rap is a vocal style where the artist speaks lyrically, in rhyme and verse. The dramatic change in Hip Hop is seen today as a cliche is formed when talking about rap often seen as disrespectful and degrading, but rap has evolved more than ever. Areas ranging from the original gangs rap owe there are artists rapping about being gay or other new topics which previously werent touched before show how far this music has come to be an outlet for people. All in all these entire sub dimensions make up Hip Hop today as new subcultures are being formed and new ideas introduced.Life can get pretty hectic at times and something I can always rely on is my music to keep my cool, It lets me lose myself in my headphones and the sound of the music lets my emotions out, creating another place for my thoughts and I can Just feel free. Waking up getting ready for the day, Im already playing music, in the car or on the ay to class guaranteed music is being played. I feel naked being in a car without music, even if its the radio playing its better than nothing. One of the best parts about being addicted to music is the variety it brings, if I feel like listening to a certain song to match my mood its always at my fingertips. Some of the music t hat exactly to the issue Im facing is helpful with me coping with a certain situation. Overall one of the greatest things about music and Hip Hop is that a certain song that can make me Just smile and think to myself all the memories brought with it. Making connections with my mind and music is vital to my everyday life.Seemingly very unimportant to some people any song suits their mood or they probably dont even care. On the other hand I have specific artists and songs I go to, to portray my mood through music. Almost like meditating with headphones I enter my own little world of peace, only the lyrics in control and my mind numb to have the music influence my next move. Each individual is unique and thats what makes us, us. Whether its the stories, emotions, and everything in-between music has helped mold the lives of people and vote endless time to those who listen. With the combination of Hip Hop and Rap, I found my genre that is solely unique to me, it has introduced me to new relationships and a better understanding of what music really is. Music comes from the soul, its not taught for someone to like a type of music but its acquired, much like drinking coffee the bitter taste isnt pleasant the first cup but after its become a habit the taste is soothing Just like music. From the beginning of music of string instruments to electronic keyboards music will continue to influence peoples lives and grow as a world phenomenon.

Blood brothers plot character summary free essay sample

Paragraph 1 The play we have been working on ‘Blood Brothers’. The plot of the story is about a pair of twins who got separated at birth, but their backgrounds in life take them to different paths which lead to opposite social lives. The play had a first run at West End in London in 1983 and it is written by Willy Russell. The play was set in Liverpool in 1962 and continues for around 20 years. The main theme in the play is the different classes i.e. Mrs Johnstone and Mickey being from a not so rich background so they are in lower-middle class, whereas Mrs Lyons is very rich which means she is in upper class. The other themes are; Class, Violence Superstition/Religion, and Parenting Family Values. The style of the piece is naturalistic but also has some variety of non-naturalistic drama into it. I think that the aim for Willy Russell’s play was to demonstrate the classes of his time period, but also to make the audience to think about why there are even classes and how they think and act around each other. We will write a custom essay sample on Blood brothers plot character summary or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page It’s also to make people think about what the effect of their actions do to the people. He would like the audience to think about the reason why the classes treat each other, which is because of the amount of money they have! Which Willey Russell thinks it isn’t right, as he shows how their lives changes for which classes they are in, and makes it effective by showing how their paths in life go as they get older. My scene is where Sammy and his friends are having a go at Mickey, but Linda steps in and helps/sorts it out. Sammy is the main one of his friends, and he does like to show off in front of his friends but also don’t really pay attention to anything much, whereas Mickey doesn’t, Mickey is more of a quiet/shy boy who puts his head down with education and focuses on the important things in life. I would like to achieve for them to think about the classes of that time period and what is was like to get something you wanted, but also to make the audience think about how they would have got it if they were in a lower class. Paragraph 2 This particular scene is good to direct because it shows what Sammy and Mickey are like when they aren’t friends (or Blood Brothers) My scene is different because in the play when Mickey and Sammy are friends, they are  all nice and friendly to each other, whereas this scene isn’t like that at all. Sammy shows that he doesn’t like Mickey and because Mickey has been brought up in an upper class, he doesn’t really fight Mickey verbally. For our scene we are using leather jackets for Sammy and his friends, but for Mickey he/she will be wearing something classier other than casual which is what Mickey wears. This scene is good to act because it makes you think about how the classes used to act towards each other and how they acted themselves e.g. The upper class is always expected to get married and have a good job, whereas the lower class is most likely to not even have a job or at least have a small pay on one. Working progress 1st paragraph I am playing Sammy, and I am performing him when he is having a go at Mickey just for the fun out of it as he likes to show off. Sammy is a lower class person, he walks very sluggish but has a bit of swag to his walk, and he has a natural accent (Liverpool). He also sits like he is slouching. He does all of this because this shows that he is a lower class person and that he is the main person out of his group (or gang).

Free Essays on Stalin

Stalin was one of the world’s most vicious leaders. Many things were written about him and his reign. One of these writings was â€Å"Stalin and State Terror†; written by Nadezhda Mandelstam a man who lived through the many years of the frightening daily life that Russia lived though during the beginning of the 20th century. Although it is not known exactly when Mandelstam wrote his memoirs it appears to be written in the 1950’s after Stalin’s rule was over. This document shows how the people of Russia during Stalin’s rule were scared into living the â€Å"perfect life† that Stalin believed they should. When writing his memoir Mandelstam mentions many heart ripping truths. He brought up his childhood when he pondered the French Revolution and whether anyone could actually survive a horrible terror such as that not knowing one-day he would himself. But then finding out first hand that everyone is a victim no one goes untouched not even the killers themselves. It hurt Russia so much it took several generations to get over it. Intimidation was the main purpose of the terror not to keep people safe and secure like police work was supposed to do. Stalin kept people in fear by killing ordinary people who had done nothing wrong. And when he believed that the fear was dying he would start a whole new wave of killing to keep the next generation in line. But he couldn’t kill everyone; there was always someone to live to tell the story. There were many lies to cover up the reason of the terror, but the real reason was Stalin’s extreme paranoia. This case of paranoia caused the death of 15,000,000 people. Instead of bringing Russia up to a stronger place in the world it weakened it from the inside out. And put the people of Russia into extreme fear. Free Essays on Stalin Free Essays on Stalin Modern World History Joseph Stalin led the Socialist Soviet Union in the â€Å"Revolution from Above,† a movement to centralize the government and transform society without popular participation . Because Stalin’s radical goals were vicious for the populace to attain, his legitimacy was based on the credibility of his ideological authority . In protection of that conviction, Stalin was in constant fear of competitive initiative and philosophy. Stalin subjected society and culture to strict party surveillance and control, issuing pro-socialist, xenophobic propaganda, censoring literature, art, and media, and launching anti-religious campaigns . In addition to his confiscation of religious property and denunciation of belief, Stalin was a contemptuous anti-Semite, using Jewish people as a symbol of corrupt capitalist ethic. However, in 1941, Stalin discontinued his Jewish intolerance and supported the formation of the Jewish Antifascist Committee (JAC) in 1942, contradicting practiced St alinism and amending his previously unquestionable policy. Even after WWII, Stalin collaborated with the United States and supported the creation of a Jewish State in Palestine. Soviet Jews raised great hope for future friendship and cooperation with the government . Suddenly, in 1948, Stalin changed his position again, dissolving the JAC, arresting prominent Jews, and beginning the â€Å"Black Years† of refreshed repression and anti-Semitism. Although Stalin’s drastic doctrinal oscillations were completely out of character for the immovable dictator, the changes in Jewish administration were not the only exceptions in his etiology that Stalin made from WWII to his death. The effects of Stalin’s inconstancies were inevitably destructive to his legitimacy and authority. What compelled a fanatically unyielding and calculating dictator to alter his policy self-preservation, miscalculation, composite guilt, or deteriorating mentality? ï ¿ ½... MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES - Essay Example As per Carlyle (1830), development of printing press was the first step towards the modern era of media. McLuhan has introduced the term â€Å"Media† along with other terms like â€Å"The Global Village† and the â€Å"Age of Information† which gained high popularity. In 1965 his famous book â€Å"Understanding Media: The Extension of Man† was published. Soon he was called the most important thinker after Newton, Darwin, Pavlov and few more. With the further development in technology, media has made constant evolution and has improved itself to fit best into the society. McLuhan has called media as an extension of man. (Griscom, n.d. â€Å"McLuhan’s message†). The chart given above indicates that with passage of time, some vital changes took place in the media industry. These changes are more influenced by the changes that are taking place in the field of technology and also in the society. One of such revolutionary change was brought by the development of the internet. Internet introduced speed in media. The present era of media is known as digital media due to influence of internet in each and every aspect. In the year 1964, Rand Corporation, created a communication network which had several nodes and each node was capable of originating, passing and receiving message. In 1967 Britains National Physical Laboratory succeeded in developing the first test network. This was just the beginning of a new era. With passage of time, more and more such networks came into existence. Many agencies came forward and actively participated in developing their own network. By the end of the 20th century, six basic internet domains developed. These domains got segregated by separate abbreviations for representing their address such as â€Å"gov†, which was for government; â€Å"mil†, which was for military; â€Å"edu†, which was for education; â€Å"com†, which was for commercial; â€Å"org†, which was for organisation and

Children who are raised by single parents can be just as progressive Essay

Children who are raised by single parents can be just as progressive with emotional, social and behavioral skills as those who are raised by both parents - Essay Example Single parenthood is on the rise across the globe resulting in mixed reactions pertaining to the stability of children raised by single parents. The high prevalence is attributable to a multitude of factors; for example, the rampant spread of feminist ideologies, technological advancement and high divorce rate (Ellwood & Jencks 1). Feminist ideologies advocate for women empowerment achieved through financial liberation, and disputing socially constructed gender based stereotypes that confine women to specific social roles. The modern, liberated woman defies traditional social expectations whereby, marriage becomes less of a priority as the focus shifts to career development. In addition, these women are free to express their sexuality openly; for example, pre-marital sex and having children out of wedlock is now common and met with minimal disapproval by the society (Ellwood & Jencks 4). In some cases, these women explore alternative methods of having children on their own such as ad option or procuring the services of fertility specialists trained to perform artificial inseminations. Technological advancements targeting reproductive health have made the latter possible. Finally, the high divorce rate also contributes to the rise in single parenthood. Initially, courts required proof of infidelity, neglect or abuse to dissolve a marriage. This is not the case in contemporary society whereby, legislative directives approve no-fault divorces (divorces based on irreconcilable differences) (Ellwood & Jencks 5). In â€Å"Resilience and Vulnerability†, authors Hetherington & Elmore (182-212) discuss the role of resilience in influencing positive development of children raised by single parents. Resilience refers to an individual’s ability to cope and adapt to changes in their physical and social environment. Hetherington and Elmore infer that parenting styles adopted by parents function to build or destroy a

Carnival Cruise Lines Essay Example for Free

Carnival Cruise Lines Essay In the case of Kirby vs. Carnival, I hold Carnival Cruise Lines responsible for her injury. There are several reasons why, first the bartender is responsible for her overall consumptions of alcohol, there is a history of guests that have either fallen or jumped over board and finally there is the fact that carnival never took it upon themselves to call for air lift transportation to the nearest hospital. Bartenders at Carnival Cruise Lines rely on big tabs and tips to make their earnings. Since they need to build up their tabs, why not get an innocent guest just looking to have a good time – extremely intoxicated? I feel like the bartender encouraged the drinking by offering five-dollar certificates for the casino. The more she drank, the more free money for the casino she got. She was visibly drunk when she left the bar, the bartender should have asked a crewmember to escort her to her room and told her friend to keep an eye out for her as a simple standard of care. Carnival Cruise Line has a history of passengers falling off or jumping off their ships, about 30 incidents a year are reported. Some of those passengers have unfortunately passed away because of this. If Carnival Cruise Line knows this, then why don’t they go above and beyond for their own guest’s safety? They should have had more cameras, more detectors, and more employees that care enough about the passengers to not let them get so intoxicated. Finally, Carnival Cruise Line is negligent for not stopping immediately to rescue her. They left her in the middle of the sea for almost two hours. The longer you stay in the water, the worse your injuries get. When they finally get her back to ship, the independent contractor they hired as a doctor could not assist her since her injuries were of an emergency level. The only thing the doctor did was give her pain relief medicine, which of course will never work for these types of injuries. Also, Carnival Cruise Line should have air lifted her to the nearest capable medical facilities, even without her consent to pay. Carnival Cruise Line could have offered to pay for at least the air lifting services, it is the least they can do for her and her family after going through this entire trauma. In conclusion, I feel Carnival Cruise Line is guilty of standards of care and negligence on their part. They are the ones that in the industry, and should provide extreme safety procedures, especially after there is a history of passengers falling or jumping over board. Also the bartender is responsible for her overall consumptions of alcohol, particularly because Carnival Cruise Lines has total control of alcohol on their ships. They do not let guests bring their own alcohol; their consumption and alcohol intoxication solely rely on Carnival Cruise Lines to provide that for them. As a final point, Carnival Cruise Line never took it upon them to give her proper medical attention.

Celebration at Neorot :: Essays Papers

Celebration at Neorot Summary Beowulf returns to the great Heorot Hall after slaying Grendel’s mother in an underwater battle. The death of Grendel and Grendel’s mother is a sign of the victory of good over evil. Grendel and his mother are vicious evil monsters. All the happy Geats listen as Beowulf recounts his underwater battle with Grendel’s mother. Beowulf credits God for his victory, saying, "The fight would have ended straightway if God had not guarded me" (Norton, 48). Beowulf offers the hilt to Hrothgar who carefully examines the melted sword, a work of giants, and "on which was written the origin of ancient strife, when the flood, rushing water, slew the race of giants"(48). Hrothgar then speaks to Beowulf about pride. Hrothgar praises Beowulf for what he has done for the Danes, but later warns him of the dangers incurred by the selfish king Heremod as an example of the evil appeal of power. Hrothgar says, "He grew great not for their joy, but for their slaughter, for destruction of Danish people. With swollen heart he killed his table-companions, shoulder-comrades, until he turned away from the joys of men, alone, notorious king, although mighty God had praised him in power, in the joys of strength, had set him up over all men." (49). Heremod is the selfish king who kills his own men. He is bloodthirsty with power and thus feels no joy. Nor does he receive any respect from his men. The story of Heremod shows that the corrupt use of power and fame can result in isolation and disrespect. Hrothgar’s speech continues as he gives thanks to God for giving humans wisdom. After the speech, Hrothgar invites Beowulf to feast once more with the Danes. The following morning, Beowulf and his men in armor are very eager to depart for home. Characterizacion Beowulf Beowulf shows further in the passage Further Celebration at Heorot that he is a thoughtful and polite man. He shows this in several ways. He gives the hilt of the sword that has killed Grendel’s mother to Hrothgar as a sign of respect for his position as the Dane’s king. He also does not forget to thank Unferth for the loan of his sword, Hrunting, even though it has been of absolutely no help to him in the fight. Hrothgar We are given a glimpse of Hrothgar’s wise character when he delivers the speech on pride to Beowulf.

Factors of communication Essay

Own working practice can affect children and young people’s development in many ways. Children learn trough impersonation, so it is important to always keep in mind that they need to have good role models. When I am working with children, I always remember to be encouraging and trust worthy. When working with children I’m always evaluating and noticing them so that I will be able to suggest for any child and their requirements by adapting the activities for them. It is very essential for me to observe the children that I’m working with competently, so I will know what activity I can plan for them, because sometimes some children might find the activity uncomplicated and get bored. Carers are the children’s role models and they should give them examples to pursue and affect their development in a good way. Shouting can influence a child’s development so when I’m with them I should always remember not to yell. If I am always shouting, children might not ask me any questions as they panic that they would be shouted at or even worse they might start copying me and develop a shouting habit. I have to shield the children from difficult situations when working with them and to always be aware, that is why when there is a problem I share it with my colleagues so we can deal with it and any other difficulties that may arise. While operating with the children I always provide important aspects of care, have good relationship with my colleagues, mind my language, possess suitable material and equipment, and have an appropriate behaviour. Read more: Explain how children and young people’s development is influenced by a range of external factors essay When my teammate and I are doing an activity and crafts in the nursery some of the children might find it harder than other children to use scissors to cut out paper, this might lead the child to be disappointed, get bored and sometimes they end up not wanting to take part in the activity, so to improve those children out we give them proper scissors for those who have more difficulties gripping normal ones. This way our children can proceed together as a group with the activity that has been stated. There are other materials that assist a child’s development and help them take part in the activities, like pencil grips, triangle shaped colours and many more. That  is why it’s very important to have quality equipment, know what they’re for and how to apply them. I must always keep in mind that not all children develop the same way, some may require more time whilst others may need less, that’s why it’s important to be tolerant and regard the child’s personal needs. So I should always remember to use appropriate equipment, be skilled and accomplished in my job to make it easier in children’s development. Reference: Tassoni, P., Beith, K., Bulman, K., Griffin, S. (2010). Pearson Education Ltd. Children & Young People’s Workforce. Essex: Heinemann pg. 81-95 Explain how institutions, agencies and services can affect children and young people’s development: Institutions, agencies and services can affect children development in many ways. If there are good components that meet with the children needs this off course will help a lot in there development. Some of the children might have some sort of disability so it is important for the institution to have appropriate equipment and skilled carers. Institutions must always meet the needs of the children either if they are socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. This might include people like teaching assistants or advisors to provide support and train staff. Youth justice this is based on children with behavioural problems these people will work with them and also social workers to help them. Social workers are there to help vulnerable children and young people and their families this might include children on the child protection register or disabled difficulties. They provide teachers and practitioners with aimed support programmes for that child once they have identified the child’s needs. Some institutions also provide specialist nurses who support for the family and child especially if that child suffers from medical conditions that need specialist care and also health visitors come under this title for measuring and assessing a child’s development. As well as a psychiatrist, a doctor who is trained in mental health problems. This person works alongside other professionals to help diagnose or support children and young people with mental health problems. They have also a Physiotherapist, this professional help the children with their movement especially those who have little or no movement. They are trained to get the maximum movement and skill level. In a well equipped environment children can develop important factors such as emotional development, social and interactive development, self development and much more. Though it is always important to have the right components and safe equipment, it is also very important that the children are always supervised by a responsible and skilled carer. Carers in an institution or agency should always be professional and responsible. They should always keep in mind that they need to create a safe and nonthreatening environment, should always monitor closely the reaction of children, keep records and be careful and follow good practice when using any type of equipment. Like this they are helping in the children development while keeping them safe. Reference: Tassoni, P., Beith, K., Bulman, K., Griffin, S. (2010). Pearson Education Ltd.
